News Just in! A unique 8th Airforce 70th Anniversary Tribute Flypast will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 27th May over a selection of USAAF bomber and fighter bases in East Anglia.
Elly Sallingboe corresponeded recently with our Chairman:
“The Flypast is dedicated in keeping the memory of the 95BG alive and to show appreciation to Norman Feltwell who is unwell in hospital for all his hard work & dedication for many years with the Sally B & the B17 Preservation Ltd. and the 95th Bomb Group Heritage Association”
The flypast consisting of a B-17 Flying Fortress, ‘Sally B’ with four fighters from the Eagle Squadron, a historic four-ship comprising a Hawker Hurricane, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang.
Over Bassingbourn and Madingley, Sally B will fly in formation with the fighters, elsewhere she will be trailing a few minutes behind them.
Below is the timings list kindly passed to us by Elly Sallingboe, B-17 Operator with the Sally B team. The list covers a huge area, and it looks like if you’re anywhere within Norfolk/Suffolk that day, you’ll at least be able to hear, if not see Sally B and her ‘little friends’!
